Hey there, This is going to be a short blog post for once! Earlier this year I made a resolution to read a book every month this year. Month one, January, is officially over and so is my book. So, how did it go? Great! Well, for the most part. At one point I didn’t think I would finish it in time. But, with perseverance and the help from Noah, I did it! I read all 239 pages of Marriage Takes More Than Love by Jack and Carole Mayhall. I must say that I did get a few puzzled looks from friends and even strangers as I sat with this book in a cafe morning after morning. If I'm not getting married soon why did I choose to read the book in the first place? The river filled with slabs of ice! I decided to read this book because I received it as a gift from my grandmother for Christmas. I had it and so I read it. I am not planning on getting married for a little while still. Hi, Back in January of 2017, I told my testimony. However, testimonies are ever-evolving, ever-growing and ever-changing. As you grow and mature you see things that you've never seen before. As they say, hindsight is 20/20. Meaning that so often we can only see what was really happening when we look back on it. I recently applied for Bible school and a part of that was a written testimony. So, I decided to share it here too. Hi there, We're two weeks into 2019 already! With a new year comes new years resolutions. Many people make them and many people break them. According to this Business Inside article, 80% of new years resolutions fail by February! So, here's what I've learned about them, how to stick to them and what mine is. So, first of all, why do people make new years resolutions in the first place? I think that often people feel slightly (and maybe subconsciously) guilty about the excess we seem to have during the recent holidays. We tend to eat more food and spend more money. This makes sense when you find out that weight loss and money saving are the most popular resolutions made. I also think it's because it's the beginning of a new year. It's a fresh start and a chance to do better or be better than the previous year. You want to promise yourself that you'll make improvements. Hi, Recently I've been struggling with what I should write about. I try to write a blog post that will interest my readers but that I am also passionate about. I always want to please you but also be proud of whatever I'm putting out there.  Usually, this means writing about travelling, a recent experience or changes in my life. But, today I decided to write about something a little more abstract. I want to talk about relationships. Specifically, long-distance relationships. This doesn't have to mean a romantic relationship. It can be friends that live far away or family that isn't close. These relationships can be extremely challenging. So, let's chat about long distance relationships! Hi there, I'm going to start this blog off by saying a HUGE thank you! I am incredibly blessed and at times I have been overwhelmed by it! Ever since I left Cambodia, over two months ago, God has provided from my every need and so much more. He has a tendency to answer prayers I never prayed and give me things I never asked for. He knows what I need better than I do. So, for everyone out there who have been praying for me, I want to sincerely thank you! Plane tickets were paid for, I was given places to stay, I was given so many warm clothes along the way including a bag full from a stranger who heard I was coming. I got a wonderful, welcoming church, a fantastic group of young people to study the Bible with and some great friends. I've met other missionary kids, which is a massive blessing I didn't know I needed! I got the first job I wanted and applied for. I now have a wonderful manager and co-workers. Hi, My struggle with writing often is finding something I believe is meaningful. I no longer want to just state events that happened, even though I'm sure some want to hear my stories. I could easily just state the events of the past two and a half months since I have been absent from my blog. But I’m only going to tell you about one today; Re-entry and Reverse Culture Shock. The biggest thing that I have done these past few months has been moving across the globe. Here’s a quick recap of my travels of the past four and a half months to give you an idea of where I have been. Starting in July I spent a month in Japan. Then I was back in Cambodia for a month. We went to Malaysia for a week and a half a week. Once again back in Cambodia for only a week. Next stop was Australia for two weeks. Then Texas for another two weeks.
