My Life By a Snapshot

Hi there feiend, It's already been a few months since I left Texas and His Hill. Since then, I have been working hard to finish my Bible school classes online. I officially graduated last week. I've had a lot of time to think and reminisce about my time in Texas hill country and everything I learned on that blessed hilltop. I'd like to share with you some of the life-changing lessons I picked up there. It takes God in man for man to be the man that God made man to be. This phrase was forever etched into my brain. It was something that we were told at the very beginning of the year but was repeated and driven home throughout the year. When God made humans He made us to have HIs Spirit dwell within us. Hey there, A while back I had to write a paper for one of my classes. Nothing big. Just one page about a person or event in 1 or 2 Samuel that stood out to me, spoke to me or taught me something. Hey there, Today I wanted to tell you a story about a unicycle and what that unicycle did for me recently. This unicycle that I recently discovered in the storage room in the gym here at His Hill helped me address two of my character flaws. I was well aware of these character flaws and how debilitating there were. But this unicycle was a turning point for one of them in particular. Let me give a little background to my story before I begin. As I child I was extremely outgoing and confident. I was unapologetically me. I was fearless and courageous. I loved to climb trees, build forts, run around and explore the great outdoors. And I did it all wearing my favorite pink sparkly skirt and a tie-dye t-shirt. If I wanted to do something, I did it. If my sister or friend could do something, so could I. I was bubbly, always smiling and very extroverted. I had many friends and loved my life! I am half Australian and half French Canadian. I've lived in Canada, Australia and Cambodia where my family were missionaries. Hi there, I was recently accepted into His Hill which is the Bible school located in Texas I was hoping on attending this Fall. This is very exciting news for me. However, often when I tell people that I am going to Bible school they don't quite understand what that means. So, today I thought it may be helpful for me to take some time to quickly explain what Bible school is and why I decided to go. First, let's tackle the what. What is Bible school? His Hill is a Bible school, kids camp and retreat centre that is a member of Torchbearers International. Torchbearers International has 26 centres like His Hill all over the world including the one in England my parents met at, the one in Quebec my family worked at and the one in Japan my sister currently works at. They're all a little different but have the same goal; "T o tell others about Jesus Christ and to disciple believers in what it means to be in Christ and to be indwelt by Christ." Hi there, I'm going to start this blog off by saying a HUGE thank you! I am incredibly blessed and at times I have been overwhelmed by it! Ever since I left Cambodia, over two months ago, God has provided from my every need and so much more. He has a tendency to answer prayers I never prayed and give me things I never asked for. He knows what I need better than I do. So, for everyone out there who have been praying for me, I want to sincerely thank you! Plane tickets were paid for, I was given places to stay, I was given so many warm clothes along the way including a bag full from a stranger who heard I was coming. I got a wonderful, welcoming church, a fantastic group of young people to study the Bible with and some great friends. I've met other missionary kids, which is a massive blessing I didn't know I needed! I got the first job I wanted and applied for. I now have a wonderful manager and co-workers. “What is love? What would you say love is?” I was asked this the other day and I had no clue how to answer it. But I’ve been thinking about it a little bit. I’d say I love a lot of people and if I’m being honest with you, I’d say I think I love them well. But what does that even mean? Since I started following God I’ve learnt so much about what love is, especially his incredible, perfect love for me. Jesus is the ultimate example of love. He was a walking, speaking, breathing example of true love. But I still can’t put into words what love is. I think everybody’s answer would be different. I don’t know if you can actually perfectly describe it with one word or even a sentence. But I think you can show it with your actions. So, to me, these things are love. True love is based on God and a reflection of God. God is love so he is present in every loving relationship, encounter or heart. He’s my inspiration and model for love. True love is unconditional. Hey there, I’m not writing today because it Valentine’s Day and I have a sappy love post (even though we are all incredibly loved by the God of the universe!) No, to be honest,I’m just here because I’m trying to post every week and I posted on Wednesday last week. So, here we are. I'm also here because I wanted to share what God has been teaching me while I've been absent from my blog. This is going to be a verse filled blog post. So, if you want you can read along with me.
