Months 4 and 5: A Little Failure and a Little Update

Image
Hi there, For those who don't know, this year (2019) I decided it would be a good idea to read a book a month. Months 1, 2 and 3 went pretty great. However, in months 4 and 5 I had a little failure. But that won't stop me! So, what happened? P.S. I'm not good at telling you what a book it actually about so Included links to each of the book's Goodreads page so you can check that out if you want.  In April, I was supposed to read Eyes Wide Open by Ted Dekker . However, I only finished it on my plane ride to Texas which was May 4th. So, I failed to read that one on time. However, I really did like the book. I really love Ted Dekker's books. But, they aren't for everyone. His books can fall into the categories of thriller, fantasy, psychological thriller, horror and mystery. I've read a couple before this one and loved them. They make you think that the characters are living in our world and everything is good and normal. Then, as the books go on, you st...

A Child's Trust For Their Father

Image
Hey there, So, the other day I saw a man pushing his son in a stroller through a park. They got to a road with a large drop down from the curb. The father was concentrating, trying hard to gently lower his son safely to the road below. The toddler strapped in inside was just staring blankly at the sky above without a worry in the world. He was just chilling there probably dreaming about the shapes of the clouds and the dinosaur he could see in them. He didn't seem to realize that his father behind him was working so hard to keep him safe and comfortable. He had such a total and oblivious trust that his father would take care of him. His father had total and complete control of the little boy's life yet he trusted him fully with it. You know when a father throws their child high into the air, then catching them as the child giggles and screams with joy? Imagine the amount of trust that that child had for their father in that moment. Children trust their parents to take care o...

NF

Hey, It was recently suggested that I review something/ somebody that I love and care about. This isn't the kid of thing I usually do, but I thought it would be a good mid week kind of post. Enjoy! So, there is a lot of music out there today that isn't good, encouraging, uplifting. I personally love rap and I don't want to listen to boastful talk about drugs, violence, sex and money. I love Lecrae! He's fantastic. I was stoked when I discovered NF. He's a "Christian Rapper". I say it like that because he's a Christian but doesn't always rap about God and faith. He deals with themes like depression, bullying, abuse and fame. he gives God the credit for his talent. NF- Oh Lord When ya healthy it's like we don't really care for Him then Leave me alone God. I'll call you when I need you again. Which is funny. Everyone will sleep in the pews Then blame God for our problems like He sleeping on you. His lyrics are deep and make ...
